Favorite part about IC:The people, for sure. There are so many different people with different interests and skills, that not only have I made lasting, DOPE friendships, but I can also abuse my friends immense talents for my own gain.”

Favorite Honors seminar you’ve taken (so far) and why:Dark Knight. Why? It’s about fudging BATMAN!”

Coolest opportunity you’ve had through IC and/or the Honors Program:I could talk about a million amazing collaborations between people more talented than me, but my favorite was writing and directing a workshop of my original musical ‘Heart Center: The Yoga Musical!’ Having the opportunity and resources to actually put on my vulgar passion project was fantastic, especially being able to work with actors who make my work seem way better than it really is. Fellow Honorite (Honorarian? Honorer?), Carrie Lindeman was the biggest help for co-writing the musical and being responsible for any song that sounds good. Expecting a full production of the show at IC this fall. It’ll be good and funny… hopefully.”

Current position(s): “Business Development Coordinator at Alston & Bird LLP. Living and working in NYC since graduation from Ithaca College, I pursued a career in film, television and theatre until 2012 when I was lured into the intriguing world of legal marketing. Now at Alston & Bird, I work with the large and talented business development team as the lead on events and special projects in NYC and as support to all practice groups in NY regarding pitches, RFP’s, and research. My primary practice group responsibilities fall to our Real Estate group, as I support the practice firm wide.”
One piece of advice you wish someone had given you in your time at IC: “I wish someone told me to take more business and communications classes. They will always be useful and serve you well in no matter what career you end up pursuing.”
Favorite Honors Seminar and why: “I took a class called Trauma in the 20th Century my senior year that was one of the most challenging of my academic career. It was troubling and deep and one of the classes that made the biggest impact on my life. It increased my own awareness of human trauma, both major and mundane, in all people’s lives and it widened my scope of empathy. It was amazing.”

Favorite Honors seminar and why:Staging History with Claire Gleitman. Claire is such an incredible human being and her class was the one honors seminar I took that allowed me to delve deeper into texts and subjects surround my major. So that was awesome.”
One word that sums up your university experience:Frigid (Ithaca is COLD). No but actually, the word I choose is, rewarding.”

Favorite part about IC: “The people. Throughout my time at IC, I have been able to collaborate with my peers and meet people from all walks of life. Additionally, the faculty have been such pillars of support and inspiration.”

Favorite Honors seminar you’ve taken and why: “It’s definitely a tie. First, I would have to say Staging History with Claire Gleitman. It was the first honors seminar that I have been able to combine my honors minor with my Theatre Studies major. It provided me to look at plays through a different lens than my major classes. However, I am also so in love with the honors seminar I took in London with Bill Sheasgreen, the director of the ICLC called City as Text. We spent every Monday going on walks throughout the city, using the city of London as out textbook.”

Coolest opportunity you’ve had through IC and/or the Honors program: “LONDON. I had the opportunity to study abroad in London for the Fall of 2013. It was by far the greatest experience of my entire life. I learned so much about myself and made memories that I truly will never forget. My gosh that is so cheesy, but so true.”
