Tickets for the Shaw Festival trip will be sold during the noon hour on Tuesday Sept 13 in the Buttermilk Falls room in the campus center. Tickets are $25, first come first served, you may buy two extra tickets for other Honors students, and you will only get a refund if you seat can be filled.
The trip will be on Sat Sept 17. The bus will leave at 6:00 am and head to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. You must have a valid passport or enhanced drivers license to go on this trip. There will be a workshop related to the show, Alice in Wonderland, at 11:00 am followed by lunch and the show at 2:00. The bus will return by 11:00 pm.
We will be selling tickets tomorrow, Thursday 9/8, during the noon hour in Muller 215 (Dylan’s Office) for two Outdoor Trips. Each trip is $10 and there are only 9 spots available for each (both pictures are from last year’s trips). This is a great opportunity to try something different. As usual, tickets are first come first served, you may buy 2 extras for other Honors students, and refunds will only happen if we can resell your seat.
Backpacking Trip (Friday 9/23 to Saturday 9/24)- Leave IC around 4:00PM (or after last class), spend the night in Finger Lakes National Forest, and return to campus Saturday around 5:00PM. Overnight camping with a day hike following on Saturday. Trail is relatively flat. We cover about 6 miles. We’ll need participants to attend a pre-trip meeting 1 week prior to the trip to meet trip leaders, complete paperwork and cover gear/equipment needs. Note: All gear is provided (tents, backpacks, etc).
Rock Climbing Trip (10/1). Leave IC around 7:00AM. Climb at Moss Island in Little Falls NY and return to campus around 7:00PM (same day). A day of outdoor rock climbing. Participants will need to attend a pre-trip meeting 1 week prior to the trip to meet trip leaders, complete paperwork and cover gear/equipment needs. All gear is provided and no experience is necessary.
Tickets for the Whitewater Rafting trip for this Saturday, 8/27, go on sale tomorrow, Thursday 8/25, during the noon hour in the Ithaca Falls room in the Campus Center. Tickets are $25, are sold first come first served, and you may buy two extra tickets for other Honors students. You can only get a refund if we are able to fill your seat on the trip. We leave on Saturday morning at 6:00am and we should be back between 5:00 and 6:00pm.
WHAT TO WEAR: – Bathing suit – Quick-dry clothing (please stay away from cotton garments as they have a tendency to keep you colder) – Old sneakers, watershoes, tevas, etc. (you want something on your foot that can get wet but is not going to fall off)
WHAT TO BRING:- Change of clothes for after trip – Extra shoes – Towel. Leave all valuables at home; jewelry, watches, cameras that are not waterproof, etc.
The annual Welcome Dinner (or really a Pizza Party) is tomorrow, Tuesday August 23. Students that volunteered to be a Big will meet their Little in T102 at 5:00 and then head over to the fitness center quad for pizza and conversation. Even if you aren’t a Big or Little you are welcome to join us for Dinner.

Spring Swing is happening Tuesday, April 12th from 7 to 9:30 pm in Emerson Suites. There will be live music, swing dance lessons, and of course an array of food!
The IC Swing Dance Club will be joining us from 7 to 7:30pm to teach swing dance lessons, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes! From 7:30 to 9pm the event will consist of live music to dance to! You can dress up if you want, but do not have to.

The Honors Annual Holiday Banquet is Wednesday, December 9, from 7-9pm in the Emerson Suites.
There will be dessert food and drink, free books, a gift raffle, and gingerbread house decorating.
This event is not to be missed and provides an opportunity to dress up a bit! Spread the word and take time to meet up with your big or little as well as hang out with other Honors friends. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
Join us on Tuesday November 17, at 12:10 in T101 to learn about the Honors fall semester in London. Learn about the Edinburgh Festival trip and the London as Text course. Find out about grant opportunities and hear from a student that has done it all. Round food will be provided.
WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! Tuesday November 10 from 7:00-8:00 in Kling. Do we need to say more. Bigs, please make the effort to reach out to your little and meet up with them at this event. We have never finished all the ice cream and so I formally challenge Honors students to show up and finish all the ice cream. For those that are sustainability minded, please bring a bowl and a spoon.
