This week we are doing an “Honors Senior Spotlight” on Anna Gardner!
Anna Gardner majors in Film, Photography, Visual Arts & Art History and is originally from Brainerd, Minnesota! Read below to find out more about Anna!
What are your plans for after graduating?
AG: Taking a nice break!! I’ll be working in Ithaca over the summer at the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation and then applying for museum fellowships/researching graduate study programs. I would also really like to spend some time traveling abroad.
What is your favorite Honors-related memory?
AG: Hanging out with my floor-mates in Lyon Hall (who are still my friends today!)
What are you involved in on campus? How has your campus involvement shaped your overall IC experience?
AG: Currently I serve as the President of Feminists United, Co-Student Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi, and a Presidential Fellow in the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life. My time in the classroom has been essential to my time at IC, but my campus involvements have allowed me to tease out theories in real world situations as well as make connections with my peers across fields of study.
What advice do you have for future Honors students?
AG: Enjoy being surrounded by people who question everything! College is a time to be inquisitive of the world and of yourself and I have found my time with Honors students allows me to really explore the questions I have. And when the people around me ask questions, my worldview becomes expanded tenfold. Savor these spaces of inquiry!
