Couldn’t Volunteer for Service Saturday? Volunteer with IC’s Biology Club at the Museum of the Earth this Saturday!

The Biology Club is coordinating this awesome volunteer opportunity with the Museum of the Earth.

The museum will be having their “Fabulous Fifteenth Birthday Party” Saturday, September 22nd.  They are eager to have volunteers come to with all the day’s activities, the day will be divided into two shifts more details about volunteer’s responsibilities are listed below.

ALL ITHACA COLLEGE STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOLUNTEER!

9:30 to 1:30: 8 – 12 Volunteers

-Assist visitors with some basic information and facilitate activities at 5 separate stations throughout the museum.  This will include our Photo Booth, a scavenger hunt table, and three tables themed around our Mastodon, Ferns, and our Fish and coral tanks.

-Assist with re-arranging tables and chairs in our classroom after a 1:00 pm lecture so that we can serve the birthday cake

 

1:30 to 5:30: 8 – 12 Volunteers

-Assist visitors with some basic information and facilitate activities at 4 – 5 separate stations throughout the museum.  This will include our Photo Booth, a scavenger hunt table, and three tables themed around our Mastodon, Ferns, and our Fish and coral tanks.

-Assist with tidying the museum as visitors cycle through, particularly as events wind down at around 5:00 pm

The Museums of the Earth is on the TCAT Bus 11 & 14 route. However, a representative from the museum will also be willing to provide transportation if necessary. But If you would like to carpool with other volunteers or if you have a car and are willing to carpool, please be sure to fill out the google form!
