Hi everyone! If you don’t me, I’m Jen, a senior Television-Radio major and Theatre minor. Since May 2016, I’ve been working with Honors as one of our Social Media Coordinators. It’s been quite the journey, and I’m so grateful to have been part of such a wonderful program. However, I’m graduating this semester, and that means that this is the last post I’ll write for the Honors blog.
I want to thank everyone who’s made my time in Honors so wonderful – Alicia Swords, Kathi Powers, our former director Tom Pfaff, my Honors classmates, and my neighbors in the Lyon Hall RLC from the fall of 2015 to the spring of 2017. I most especially want to thank my former co-coordinator Ryan Opila and my fabulous current co-coordinator Tynesha Taylor, who will be continuing on next semester.
I wish the best of luck to all of our Honors students as we head into finals week, and thank you for letting me share what makes this program special on social media. As much as I’ll miss Honors, I know that it’s prepared me well for my next adventures. This community is truly incredible, and I’m so thankful that I am a part of it.
Thank you to all of our Honors community members who joined us last night in Emerson Suites. The Holiday Celebration was a huge success, and we hope you had a great time. In the Spring Semester, there will be a 1-Credit Honors Short Seminar called Opera Immersion (CRN #: 42792).
This course explores the form of opera, including the music, drama, scenic art, technical theater, and socio-political context, through an in-depth exploration of Lucia di Lammermoor.
In addition, you will also go to the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City on April 7th, 2018 to see the opera that you have been studying throughout the semester come to life!
Register now! There are still some seats remaining!
Tonight is the night of the Annual Holiday Celebration! Please wear your ugly holiday sweaters or come as holiday-y as you can and join us for some fun holiday festivities!
See you all tonight!
