New Student Spotlight: Sydney Krause ’21

It’s time to once again welcome a new class of students into our Honors family. Sydney Krause is an incoming freshman majoring in Politics and minoring in Journalism and Honors from Manilus, NY. Learn more about Sydney in her own words below!

What are you passionate about? What do you love to do?

I’m a huge history nerd and love a good debate. I enjoy writing (both fiction and non-fiction) and wrote for my high school’s newspaper. I love music and have played clarinet for ten years and plan to continue in college. I’m also a pretty big sci-fi geek and enjoy a good Doctor Who or Star Trek marathon every now and then.

What are you most excited for about Ithaca College?

I look forward to trying new things and coming out of my shell a little more. I’m excited about all of the opportunities at my fingertips that’ll allow me to pursue my interests and maybe even find new ones.

What have you been up to this summer?

I’m trying to relax this summer but I’m looking forward to orientation and vacation to Cape Cod. As lame as it sounds, my favorite memory so far is playing frisbee with my friends at the park. We lost track of time and ended up there for over three hours!

Welcome to Honors, Sydney!

We’re always looking for interesting students to highlight in our Spotlight series.
