IC Honors Advice: Professional Communication II – Email Subject Field

Why: Just like you we sort through way too many emails each day and the subject field helps us prioritize. Subject lines also help us organize our work. For example, if we are accepting an assignment by email we may use the subject line to place them in a separate folder. You don’t want your email about needing an appointment to be assumed to be about the assignment that is due because you left the subject line blank.
