IC Honors Summer Student Spotlight: Kyle James

Meet Kyle James, a rising senior IMC and Sport Studies major!

Kyle is spending his summer working full time at Campus Center & Event Services as a Lead Operations Manager, and is also researching the effects of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games on the infrastructure of Salt Lake City, building off of an independent study Kyle completed in Spring 2015. Thanks in part to a grant from the Honors Program, Kyle will also be spending about a week in Utah delving further into his research!

Kyle’s favorite part about the Honors program is that is pushes you out of your comfort zone.

“What I like most about the Ithaca College Honors Program is that it forces you to get out of your academic school and take courses you never would’ve dreamed about taking. Some of these courses, such as The Ring Cycle & Explosions in a Shingles Factory: French Modernism have proven to be some of the courses at IC that have challenged me the most academically and changed the way I think about and approach complex issues. In addition to the academic benefit, the Honors Program has led me to some of my closest friends and their ‘Bigs and Littles’ program allowed me to be a ‘big brother’ to a bunch of amazing people that are going to do great things in the near future.”

What are you doing this summer? Honors wants to know!
