Member of the Board of Trustees, Broome County Public Library

A piece of advice you wish someone had given you in your years at IC: “Two things: First, remind yourself how fortunate you are to be able to take advantage of everything IC has to offer and stay in touch with the people you meet there. They will be some of the best friends of your whole life. Second, have a plan and be focused, but also leave some space for serendipity to play a role in your life. Sometimes you will find yourself pushed in a direction that you didn’t expect and that might open the door for marvelous opportunities you wouldn’t have ever imagined otherwise.”
Favorite Honors Seminar you took and why: “I will never forget Professor Naeem Inayatullah’s seminar The Origins of Global Fury, which I took in the fall of 2003. His seminar changed my life and how I viewed the world in which we live. The discussions were impassioned and profound. It prompted me to major in Politics and shaped the academic interests that I hold to this day.”
One word that sums up your university experience: “Transformative.”
